WEDDING WEEKEND

We envision a magical vacation with a very small group of friends and family.

We'll have a short ceremony and a few group activities but will keep a very laid back approach.

Getting here won't be easy so we highly recommend staying at least a few full days to make it worth it. We'll be on the island for a week.

THE ISLAND

Vieques is a small island off the coast of Puerto Rico with a population of about 6,000 people. The island is 21 miles long by 4 miles wide of pure beauty.

Vieques is also home to Mosquito Bay, the brightest bio-luminescent bay of the 10 or so that exist in the world.

TIME ON VIEQUES

"Island Time" is a real thing. Everything moves slowly and nothing we plan will start exactly on time.

The airport is a 15 minute drive to the main activity area. From the main drag, all bars, dinners and non-beach activities will be easy walking distance.

The nearest swimming beach is a 15 minute walk from town (3 minute drive). At least two beach days will be spent at the wildlife refuge beaches which are 15 - 20 minute drives.

TRANSPORTATION

The "Travel" page goes into great detail because transportation to Vieques from San Juan and on the island of Vieques itself is not always straightforward.

For us, that adds to the charm but we do want to set good and honest expectations for everyone. Not everyone loves 6-seat turbo prop airplanes as much as us...

We think the extra effort is worth it. If either of us can help you with any trip details, please just ask!
