LODGING IN VIEQUES
There are 2 four-star hotels, 4 to 5 multiple room guesthouses and maybe 20 private rentals in Esperanza where the festivities will take place. We’ve detailed out those options below. We’ll be staying at Malecon House and the reception will be at El Blok.
We’ve filled up Malecon House but El Blok still has rooms available as well as a few guesthouses near the maelcon.
HOTEL BLOCK AT Malecón House
We have reserved all 13 rooms at this hotel on the boardwalk. We will have a room here and the ceremony will be in the hotel courtyard. They provide coolers, beach towels and a light breakfast but do not have a bar or restaurant. As of March 2019, we’re all full here!
AvAILABLE ROOMS AT EL BLOK HOTEL
This is the largest hotel on the southside of Vieques with 22 total rooms. They have a full bar and restaurant and we will host our post-ceremony dinner here. A base room will cost you $180 - $220 a night. We do not have any reservations here so we suggest making arrangements as soon as possible if you choose to stay here. El Blok is a 5-minute stroll down the boardwalk from Malecon House.
Guesthouses and private rentals
Here is a link of all the guesthouses within 0.5 miles of the malecon: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g147326-c2-Isla_de_Vieques_Puerto_Rico-Hotels.html Think of these guesthouses as one step down from a full service hotel but likely one step up from a private rental.
Below is a list of the various private rental options we've researched and tentatively recommend. All prices were pulled in 2017 so may have changed. For the larger houses, please coordinate among family and friend groups if you want to rent together for cheaper costs.
Three items to note:
1 - Scroll to the bottom for a map with each property location marked. The northernmost options are still under a 10-minute walk from the main hotel block we reserved.
2 - The three night price is listed because over half of the properties have three night minimums. We also really hope you make it for at least three nights
3 - The guesthouses and private rentals tend to fill up first since they are the more affordable options. For private rentals, we recommend checking for reviews within the last year to make sure they are still renting after the hurricane.
